Decision Card · No. 03AI Capabilities and Trust
The More You Give AI to Read, the More It May Miss What Matters
Before handing over the material, define three things.
The manager defines the frame
- What decision should this support?
Cut the budget, or change the production schedule?
- What standard should guide the tradeoff?
Cost, or delivery?
- Which material deserves priority?
Core evidence first; background material later.
Find evidence and analyze it using the stated standard. Process the core material first, then add context.
You do not need to identify every important detail in advance. You do need to state the decision standard.
For business leaders
AI can read the material. You still define what deserves attention: the problem, the tradeoff, and the result the decision must support.
For managers
Your value is not reading faster than AI. It is using the company’s situation to say, “This is the part that matters most for this decision.”
