Decision Card · No. 09AI Adoption and Business Decisions

If AI Has the Policies and the Data, Why Is It Still Missing the Point?

AI can see historical outcomes. It cannot see why people made those decisions.

  1. Reopen historical cases

    Some were approved, others rejected.

  2. Ask why each decision was made

Let the people who made the call explain their reasoning.

  3. Separate the business judgments

    Rules, cases, disagreements, and boundaries.

  4. Create a living business judgment brief

    Keep testing and revising it.

Do not hand old habits directly to AI. The business must first decide which judgments still deserve to become standards.

For business leaders

Technical implementation can be outsourced. Deciding which judgments become the official standard cannot. Someone on your side who understands the business has to make that call.

For managers

Do not hand over only policies and process diagrams. Bring real cases, disagreements, and exceptions, and make the business judgment explicit enough to use.
